The European Commission sees the need to keep momentum relating to e-leadership skills going, provide consolidation to these efforts in 2015-2016, and elaborate a comprehensive agenda (2016-2020) for e-leadership.

The above 36-page brochure has been released and published in June 2015 addressing the topic of e-leadership and the results and achievements of the first phase of the European e-Leadership Initiative launched by the European Commission.

With demand for skilled ICT workers exceeding supply, Europe could soon face a shortage of more than half a million ICT workers: potentially missing an opportunity to fight massive unemployment and risking its digital competitiveness.

Universities and business schools such as IE Business School and the University of Applied Sciences in Valencia: supported by the guidelines for curriculum development which have been developed by the e-leadership initiative: demonstrate how they are going to improve the quality

This event is part of the EU e-skills strategy and the e-leadership initiative launched by the European Commission in 2013. Organisations across Europe must take advantage of new ICT developments and take up innovations which deliver business value.

This Commission initiative develops targeted actions for start-ups and fast growing SMEs to provide them with relevant e-leadership skills and qualifications for entrepreneurs, managers and advanced ICT users that are recognized trans-nationally.

This issue was also most commonly raised during ESCO (Electronics Systems Community) consultations across all its work streams. Sufficient skills supply was identified as a critical enabler to support and achieve the UK electronics industry’s ambition for growth.

These leaders oversee portfolios of both well-defined and emergent innovation opportunities. Successful design and implementation requires developing and engaging highly qualified staff to realise the target value.

These are currently under preparation an include the ones in Munich (Germany) on 17 July 2014 organised by Bayme, together with Technical University Munich and VOICE e.V., a further one in Antwerp (Belgium) organized by Antwerp University and School of Management to take place.

During the second day of the workshop, areas of collaboration and cooperation between countries, by examining a series of key themes relating to e-skills and ICT professionalism were explored.
